Mid-range Sony X900F 4K TVs with Dolby Vision get priced

For better, at CES 2018, Sony didn’t spew out a mind bending number of TVs. Instead, the company, who has seen a resurangance of their TV business, offered two new 4K TVs — the X900F and the OLED A8F with the former positioned as a mid-range set.

So no, the X900F isn’t for owners looking to replace their X930/940 C or D series and instead is aimed at the more conventional consumer. Like the fleet of more higher-end TVs released in 2017, the X900F now features Sony’s X1 Extreme processor which brings with it Dolby Vision, which will apparently arrive later this year via a firmware update.

The X900F 4K HDR Ultra HD TVs will support Dolby Vision via a firmware update to be delivered later this year. And to bring sound to the next level, the X900F series is designed perfectly to match Sony’s new Dolby Atmos® sound bar, the HT-X9000F.

As Sony notes, the X900F series is designed to work hand-in-hand with the X9000F sound bar (pictured above) which was also announced at CES 2018. As for pricing, Sony is clearly looking to have these units move when they begin to arrive at Best Buy and Amazon later this month as I’ve been told by a little birdie.

  • 55-inch XBR-55X900F — $1,499.99
  • 65-inch XBR-65X900F — $2,299.99
  • 75-inch XBR-75X900F — $3,999.99

If past years have been any indication, don’t be surprised to see their prices slashed by mid-summer, making the prices even more competitive.
