For those participating in the PS4 system update 7.0 beta, it’s time to fire up your PlayStation as a new build has just gone live. With the update coming in at 469.7MB, it shouldn’t take long to install, though it remains unclear what, if anything obvious, has changed, or if like so many other PS4 updates, it’s all under-the-hood tweaks.

Unlike years prior, there doesn’t seem to be a huge amount of new functionality coming to PS4 with the 7.0 build which should launch by month’s end. The few noteworthy changes include:

  • HDR calibration
  • Party count increasing to 16 from the current 8
  • Less frequent need to reboot PS4 after an update

It really does seem like Sony is running out of ideas on what to enhance on PS4, which begs the question, what do you want to see added to the console via a firmware update?
