Sony delaying The Last of Us Part II indefinitely may have received a bulk of the news, but another PlayStation exclusive is also receiving a delay. Marvel’s Iron Man VR was initially headed to PSVR on May 15th, but like the much-anticipated Naughty Dog game, it too has been delayed.

Until the world has a better handle on COVID-19, games, movies, and pretty much most forms of entertainment that aren’t purely digital will continue to be delayed. Even most rescheduled release dates are best guesses.

In the past month, Half-Life Alyx has received a lot of praise for being a ‘killer’ game that truly shows off what gaming in VR can deliver. However, if this video preview from Nathaniel de Jong (also known as Nathie), is any indication, it’s PlayStation that could have the next killer VR title. Not having played Half-Life Alyx myself, while a fine game, I’m sure, the idea of stepping into an Iron Man suit is exponentially more intriguing and genre-defining than wandering through City 17 and shooting aliens.

Like The Last of Us Part II, Sony likely believes that they have another blockbuster on their hands with Iron Man VR that, if released during the current global pandemic, would get buried. It’s been a long time since I fired up PSVR, namely because quirky cooking games and the like don’t hold my interest, but becoming Iron Man is something I can get behind.

If you don’t own PSVR, could a game like Iron Man VR make you buy into it?
