What I’m about to say isn’t anything I haven’t said before and yet when you look back at the history of photography, how entrenched shooters can become in a ecosystem, and where Alpha was a mere ten years ago, what Sony has achieved is something that will be studied in business school in years to come. More than ever, big time photographers, videographers, and creatives are ditching Canon, Nikon, and Fuji for Sony, something that’s perfectly encapsulated in a video by Sean Tucker. If you’re not familiar with Sean and his work, in his own words:

I’m more interested in the ‘why’ of photography than in the ‘how’.

There are loads of channels out there enthusiastically giving you gear reviews and top ten lists, but that’s not this channel.

There will be practical tips along the way, but the meat of what I want to share with you won’t be tech heavy.

Besides, I believe that a photographer who really sees, but has a cheap camera; will produce better images than a photographer with the best gear, but no vision… every time.

I’m not a daily vlogger, I’m not even a weekly one. The most I can manage at the moment is about once a month. But that also means that I’m not going to fill this channel with repeats of other info online, or attempt to stretch a little bit of content a long way.

I want every video to feel fresh and rich.

Hopefully that makes them worth the wait.

Thanks for being an SRN reader. If you liked this post and want to help me cover Sony even more with reviews, videos, and podcasts, please clap (you can 👏 more than once!), share on your favorite social sites, and subscribe to the SRN newsletter.
